Art Lab Kids Workshop @ Headwaters Arts Center

Thursdays, 3–4:30p
Headwaters Arts Center
Free; Consent Form Required

Art Lab is a weekly afterschool program for kids 12+ that allows young people to try artist tools and materials and explore their creativity. Students are encouraged to experiment with new techniques, mix different media, and develop their own artistic methods. The goal of the program is to supplement the art instruction that students receive in school and to support students in developing their interests and artistic practice.

Art Lab encourages self expression, providing gentle guidance as students learn new skills, find their voice, and refine their visual vocabulary. Materials, equipment, and activities are largely guided by students’ interests, although Art Lab will regularly feature guest artists who teach specialized skills or techniques.

A parent or guardian must complete the Parent/Guardian Consent Form in order for a child to participate in Art Lab.

All programs offered by the Roxbury Arts Group are supported by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the NYS Legislature, the A. Lindsay and Olive B. O’Connor Foundation, the Robinson Broadhurst Foundation, The Community Foundation for South Central New York, the Tianaderrah Foundation, an anonymous foundation, The Delaware National Bank of Delhi, and by the generosity of our business sponsors and individual supporters.
