Summer Floral Design Workshop with Marcy Grobler

September 19 @ 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm

Roxbury Arts Center Hosts Marcy Grobler for a Summer Floral Design Workshop

Marcy Grobler of Sticky Petal Farm returns to teach another floral design workshop inspired by the abundance of summer flowers — this time in Roxbury! Known for her intuitive, nature-forward approach, Grobler brings her expertise in seasonal, locally grown blooms to this hands-on workshop on Saturday, September 19, 2026, 1–2:30p at the Roxbury Arts Center, 5025 Vega Mountain Road, Roxbury, NY. For more information or to register for this popular workshop experience please visit https://roxburyartsgroup.org.

In this workshop, participants will create their own seasonal floral arrangement using locally grown flowers, guided step-by-step through the fundamentals of floral design. Topics include selecting a color palette, building structure and balance, working with texture, and properly caring for cut flowers so arrangements last. By the end of the session, each student will leave with a completed arrangement in a vase, along with the skills and confidence to recreate their designs at home.

Designed to be approachable for all experience levels, the workshop emphasizes working intuitively with seasonal materials rather than following rigid rules. Participants will gain insight into how flowers move and interact with one another, while picking up practical, hands-on tips for handling and arranging fresh blooms. The result is a relaxed, creative environment where learners of any background can explore floral design at their own pace.

Teaching artist, Marcy Grobler grows a wide variety of flowers using sustainable growing practices at Sticky Petal Farm, in Jefferson, NY. In addition to farming, they specialize in wedding and event florals throughout the Catskills, Hudson Valley, and beyond. Their work is rooted in seasonality, natural movement, and garden-inspired design. This workshop continues Roxbury Arts Group’s commitment to bringing accessible, community-centered arts programming to Delaware County, connecting local makers and artisans with residents eager to learn new creative skills.

This event is sponsored by Margaretville Telephone Company. All programs offered by the Roxbury Arts Group are supported by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the NYS Legislature, the A.
